In the Quran, Allah commanded us to thank the parents for their favors n us. We may not deny their benevolence when they reach the old age. His mother carried him, [increasing her] in weakness upon weakness, and his weaning is in two years. Be grateful to Me and to your parents; to Me is the [final] destination.} Quran ( 31 : 14 )

Let him be humbled into dust; let him be humbled into dust. He who sees either of his parents during their old age or he sees both of them, but he does not enter Paradise. Said by the Prophet Muhammad, may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him. Allah commanded all people and all the nations before us to treat the parents kindly. Allah considers this good deed to be of the rank next to faith. Allah the almighty said ( interpretation of the meaning ) : { And [recall] when We took the covenant from the Children of Israel, [enjoining upon them], "Do not worship except Allah ; and to parents do good and to relatives, orphans, and the needy. And speak to people good [words] and establish prayer and give zakah." Then you turned away, except a few of you, and you were refusing.} Quran ( 2 : 83 )
