The role of the mountains in stabilizing the earth's crust

The mountain resemble the wedge in shape and function, for a part of the wedge is visible on the surface of the earth, while another part of it is planted in the bottom of the earth's crust, its function is to keep it firm.
Allah said ( interpretation of the meaning ) :
